I LOVE making costumes! This is my newest. Uncle John titled him Sir Calder of Arlingtonshire. He is making sure that the dragon stays caged. Don’t want him getting out and causing chaos!
Olly’s 4th of July! July 7, 2010
Olly celebrates his first Independence Day!
First, he had a big big lunch at Twisted Root Burger Co. in Dallas on SMU Blvd.
Then, he got to ride in the Jeep wagon at the Dallas Zoo.
OOOOOHHHH, but things got a little scarey when a Ball Python decided to curl up on his head. J/K A zoologist was holding the snake to make sure everything was safe.
Olly finished the day with a good fireworks show!
It was a day full of adventure.Olly is up for adoption in my Etsy.com store. http://www.etsy.com/listing/50452229/plush-octopus-adopt-olly-octopus

Olly’s adventures! July 2, 2010
Olly has a very adventurous spirit! He loves to try new things whenever he can. These are his adventures to date.
This was Olly’s first outing. He really really really wanted to go to the park and play on the playground. In this pic , he is pretending to be a pirate. ARRRRG!
Olly tried climbing a tree. He said he could see forever up there!
Olly loved hanging out with the kiddos!
Olly hung out at the skate park. He loved watching everyone do their tricks. He would have tried it, too, but he didn’t have anything with wheels.
Olly got to listen to a local band. He had some toe tappin’ great fun. That band can really SWING!
Olly really wants suggestions for more adventures. Just leave a comment and he will eventually get it in. Right now, he is slightly limited. If you like to help Olly with his adventures, you can make a donation via Paypal-send to txtigerl@yahoo.com.
Olly’s How-to! June 30, 2010
Olly Octopus has been having many great adventures, but it has been a bit rainy around here recently. He decided that he would build a fort, and make a video of how to do it! Very ambitious for such a little guy!
If you have any ideas for adventures or other how-to videos for Olly, please, leave a comment! Olly will definately consider all ideas. Also, if you would like an Olly of your own, he is up for adoption in my Etsy shop.
Sorry I have been gone so long! May 24, 2010
Just been very very busy! I hope to have a couple news post done this week. I have been working on some new stuff. Stay tuned!
Tried out a new idea. February 2, 2010
Its been awhile since I have posted, but that’s because I have been busy trying out some a new idea. A few years ago, I tried carving my own stamps, but wasn’t too good at it. For some reason, I wanted to try again. I got the right tools this time. I got lino cutting tools and lino blocks. It was much easier this time for some reason. I wanted to see how they would work on fabric. It worked much better than I thought. There were still some errors in my trials. I know that I shouldn’t use a sponge roller to apply the paint to the lino block. It is too soft and the paint gets on the negative areas of the stamp. If I don’t pay attention, the paint is then transfered to the fabric. I still like how my onesies turned out though. Since it happened more than once and some of the stamps came out a little faded or didn’t print completely, it gives it a vintage/distressed look. Check them out!
New shoes January 22, 2010
I made a new pair of shoes today. I still need to refine them, but I still plan to post them to Etsy.
Busy busy busy! January 21, 2010
Well, one of my new year’s resolutions was to create at least one item a day. Some of them have been the same design, but multiples of it. I have worked on a few new things though. I tried my hand at baby bootie/shoes. They are so much fun.
I created a Valentine onesie.
The last new design is my little blue bird onesie.
Something for the girls! January 10, 2010
I recently had an idea for the little girls out there. Please let me know what you think. This is a cute little daisy dress. Does it work? or does it need work?
Crafts crafts crafts crafts crafts!!!! December 23, 2009
Finally!!!!! I am done with all the Christmas presents. I decided that for Christmas this year I was going to try to make something for all my family for gifts. I wasn’t able to get to everyone, but they are still getting some awesome gifts. First up, the photo collages for the grandparents of the newest edition, my son.
Next, I made some charms for my step mother. She is a lover of all animals, but definitely her horses. I made a cow, boot, hat, spur, and horse.
Especially for my mother, I made her a heart necklace that has my thumb print and her grandson’s thumb print.
For my step grandmother, I appliqued a penguin onto a shirt and crocheted an amigurumi penguin. She loves penguins if you haven’t already guessed.
For the nephews, I made fleece hats.
For the step sisters, I made cowls. They seems to be very fashionable around the handmade world. I hope they like them.
Last, but certainly not least, that I made this year was sugar-free truffles for my step dad. They sure are tasty! I had to taste one. I don’t like giving a food gift without tasting it. I would feel so bad if it didn’t come out right and didn’t know it until they tasted it.
Now, the non-handmade gifts were a Wii game for one of my brothers and his girlfriend, and some Indian foods for the other brother. He is the chef in the family but lives in a smaller city that doesn’t have much world fare. I can’t wait til tomorrow. I am traveling home and spending Christmas with the family. Hope you and yours have a great break and enjoy the holidays! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
